EAVP supplied a complete lighting system for Priscilla Queen of the Desert playing at Perth’s Crown Casino. Brock Preston, EAVP’s very own director, was engaged to design and programme the show.
In preparation for the show, Brock decided to purchase four Theatrelight 8 way RDM/DMX splitters and three Theatrelight DB-PACK power distribution units.
The Theatrelight RDM8 is an isolated transparent in-line RDM splitter used for connecting a large number of RDM devices such as moving lights, LED Luminaires, smoke machines, dimmers etc to an RDM control panel.
The Theatrelight DB-Pack is a simple, reliable 19 inch rack mount power distribution power supply for LED luminaires, moving lights, and other inductive and capacitive loads which need manually switched power.
“We decided to opt for the Theatrelight product due to our ongoing relationship with Show Technology, their support and the robust construction of the Theatrelight equipment,” remarked Brock. “The DMX Splitters are built tough to handle on road conditions and it’s a bonus that they support RDM which future proofs them. The Power Distribution boards have RCDs on each circuit, they are clearly labelled and made from good quality components.”
Brock further commented that the equipment has been flawless, saying that they have been running for two weeks of rehearsals and shows and we cannot fault them.
“We will be buying another set for sure,” he concluded.
