Theatre Technician – Lighting and Sound

We’re seeking multiple casual Theatre Technicians to support a range of productions, programs and events delivered at Chapel Off Chapel

Your general duties include:

  • Set up and operate in-house systems and equipment, and support production crews in the utilisation of lighting, sound, vision and multimedia equipment
  • Drive a safe work environment
  • Design & operate audio systems and lighting systems
  • Consult with hirers to deliver key objectives of the productions technical outcomes, and manage the technical operations of hirers productions and other events
  • Support other productions and events that require technical supervision and operation

These are casual positions with an hourly rate of $42.57 to $45.36 (including causal loading) + 10% superannuation.

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Experience working in a theatre or entertainment industry environment
  • Experience operating Yamaha and ETC control desk, Have an understanding of audio and lighting networks
  • A high degree of problem solving and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated technical understanding and knowledge of work health and safety in a theatrical environment
