- Hourly rates depend on duties rostered and range from $35.32 to $39.15 per hour, inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 9.5% superannuation.

From time to time Her Majesty’s Theatre requires enthusiastic people with a strong work ethic and customer service focus to join the Technical team.
To be considered for positions in the Technical department, applicants should have a sound knowledge of theatre and theatre operation with experience and/or training in live theatre production a distinct advantage
Technical staff work on a 14-day roster under the City of Ballarat Enterprise Bargaining Agreement No. 8 2019 and hours of work can be between 8.00am and midnight any day of the week. Some work outside of these hours may be required on occasion, applicable overtime rates apply. Please note: rostered hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on the volume of usage and performances presented within the theatre at any given time.
Key Selection Criteria – Theatre Technicians
- Experience in Performing Arts Venue operations.
- Demonstrated operating skills in lighting, audio and staging equipment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new situations, show initiative and positively respond to challenges and strive for continuous improvement in service provision.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
- Ability to utilise Microsoft Word, Excel and theatre lighting and sound software packages.
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
