We are excited to announce two casual opportunities for skilled Theatre Technicians to join our dynamic team at Chapel off Chapel. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting a diverse range of productions, programs, and events that enrich our creative community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set-Up & Operation: Efficiently set up and operate our in-house lighting, sound, vision, and multimedia systems, while collaborating with production crews to ensure seamless technical execution.
- Safety First: Maintain and promote a safe working environment, ensuring all technical operations comply with safety regulations.
- Audio & Lighting Design: Design and operate sophisticated audio and lighting systems tailored to the unique needs of each production.
- Client Collaboration: Consult with event hirers to understand their vision and ensure the delivery of key technical outcomes, while overseeing the technical operations for their productions.
- Event Support: Provide expert technical supervision and operation for a variety of productions and events, ensuring smooth and professional performances.
What We Offer:
- Casual positions with an attractive hourly rate of $45.99 to $48.79 (inclusive of casual loading)
- 11.5% superannuation

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Industry Experience: Proven experience working in a theatre or entertainment industry environment, with a deep understanding of live production demands.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in operating Yamaha audio desks and ETC lighting control systems, along with a strong grasp of audio and lighting networks.
- Problem Solving & Teamwork: A high degree of problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Safety Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and application of work health and safety standards in a theatrical setting, ensuring all operations are compliant and safe for all involved.
