About The Role
On average the Civic Theatre has 165 performances per annum equating to an average of three shows a week 52 weeks of the year. The council through its Public Performance Program presents a diverse range of drama, dance, music and opera from national and international artists and organisations.
This position supports the technical unit by undertaking theatre and function set ups, operating theatrical equipment, and assisting in the upkeep of Council’s performance venues and systems.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical support in Audio/Vision – live performance, musicals, etc.
- Demonstrated experience working in a technical area in a theatrical and/or live entertainment venue.
- Possess a well-developed understanding of theatre technical systems.
- Demonstrated computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High Level customer service and communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a team environment and autonomously.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and skills commensurate with this classification level.
- Perform work with a degree of physical activity and manual labour.
- Current Queensland “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Capacity to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
