Karralyka is a 410-seat theatre located just 30 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, in Ringwood East. This dynamic venue includes both theatre and function spaces and hosts a variety of events from professional touring productions to intimate cabaret performances and local community productions.
We currently have an opening for experienced Theatre Technicians to work with our Production Team.
This is a casual position that will start immediately and requires availability to work weeknights and weekends regularly.
This role will support the technical aspects of theatrical productions within Karralyka; primarily working within our audio, lighting and staging teams. Applicants with skills and experience in one or all of these arears are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will work in all areas in Karralyka, including performances in the theatre, events in the function rooms, and other venues including outdoor events. The ability to maintain high standards of OH&S and safety in accordance with policies and procedures is required.
Successful applicant must have:
• Diploma in Technical Theatre/Live Production or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in working a professional theatre, excellent customer service and client relationship management skills.
• An excellent work ethic and be a strong team player with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• You must be able to work a variety of hours including weekends as required.
• Experience in both lighting and sound setup, patching, checking is desirable.
• Experience operating Digico or Allen & Heath audio consoles, sound design, wireless systems setup and general audio operations. Or:
• Experience operating ETC Eos lighting consoles, Qlab, Arkaos media servers, lighting design and programming.
