Theatre Technician

Primary Work Location: Gosford NSW

  • Salary $37.14 per hour (includes 25% casual loading) + 10.5% superannuation. Penalty rates apply for weekend work.

Overview of the Role

Laycock Street Community Theatre is one of Australia’s busiest regional community theatres.  The theatre’s highly motivated and professional team of technicians are exceptionally proud of their track record of technical excellence and high standard of customer service for both professional and amateur clients.

The role of Theatre Technician is responsible for providing exceptional technical support services to all users of the venues and events.

The successful applicants will be employed on a casual day-to-day basis and will be required to be available to work 7 days per week 24 hours per day.

About the Role

  • Setup and operation of professional audio and vision equipment, including digital audio consoles;
  • Setup and operation of professional lighting fixtures, consoles and power distribution systems;
  • Operate and maintain single purchase counterweight flying system.

About You

  • You hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • You have industry experience in Entertainment technology support within a venue and/or Entertainment production company;
  • You are skilled in the setup and operation of professional audio equipment including Digital Audio Consoles, lighting equipment, counterweight flying systems and entertainment rigging systems or willingness to undertake relevant training;
  • You work productively with professional, non-professional and community groups in the presentation of a range of performance styles and formats;
  • You are an effective communicator with fellow staff and the public, a team player who thrives in high-volume environments meeting deadlines;
  • You can work unsupervised and are willing and able to work a variety of shifts on a Monday to Sunday basis, including nights.

The Salary

This role provides a commencing salary range of up to $37.14 per hour (including 25% casual loading) dependent on skills and experience + penalty rates + 10.5% superannuation.
