Karralyka is looking for a creative, organised and highly skilled theatre technician to join our team.
About the role:
• Part-time with a flexible roster, evening and weekend work will be required.
• Lead a team of passionate technicians with expertise in audio, lighting, staging, and rigging.
• Guide our community and hirers through their production planning through to the final curtain.
• Support the Theatre Technical Coordinator to forecast and plan the technical operations of Karralyka.
Required Skills and Experiences
• Professional or tertiary qualifications in live theatre and events, production management, audio engineering or event lighting.
• Experience in production and venue management.
• Demonstrated experience in team management, rostering and leading on shift.
• Strong background in preparing the theatre for hire, reading and interpreting event riders, venue specifications and CAD drawings.
• Experience in project development, planning and delivery, particularly circus, big top, Spiegeltent, burlesque and cabaret events.

The team at Karralyka are a dedicated, fun and warm group who deliver technical services for Karralyka and Maroondah City Council. We are responsible for the audio, lighting, rigging and staging components of all events at Karralyka. We always maintain high safety standards in all our work.

• Karralyka is located in Ringwood, we are a 428 seat theatre and 3 large function rooms. We are one of the largest providers of live entertainment in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs. We host a diverse range of live events from touring performances to local community groups and school shows.
