An exciting opportunity currently exists for highly motivated individuals to join the Wedge Performing Arts Centre in the casual role of Theatre Technician.
The Wedge performing Arts Centre, located in Sale, Victoria is an award-winning contemporary cultural hub for performing arts and entertainment, complete with a 390- seat theatre, 50-seat black box studio, café and dining facilities, function and rehearsal rooms. The Centre presents in excess of 150 events each year of very diverse local, professional and community programming, attendance of over 50,000 annually.
Our Theatre Technicians work in a fast paced, hands-on team environment to provide technical support to event hirers and clients in the provision of audio visual, stage lighting and sound for small and large events including live theatre production shows, meetings and conferences. You will work closely with key stakeholders to provide excellent client services during the setup and rigging of installation, rehearsal, operation and bump out of our events. In addition, you will ensure that the technical equipment used is maintained in a safe working condition at all times.
To be successful in the role, you will be proactive in nature with the ability to liaise with clients on their technical requirements and accommodate last minute changes in a calm and professional manner. Your ability to work effectively in a team and autonomously will be highly regarded.

Availability to work during days, evenings and weekends will be paramount to this role.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
- Knowledge of working within a live theatre environment and/or an entertainment venue.
- Knowledge of sound, lighting, rigging and audio visual used in a theatre setting.
- Willingness to learn and gain new skills.
- Well-developed communication skills with a demonstrated client service focus.
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate (desirable).
