Theatre Technician

$42.95 per hour plus 9.5% statutory superannuation (junior rates apply if under 21)

Do you enjoy creating excellent events whilst utilising your technical knowledge and experience?

A unique and exciting opportunity exists to become an integral part of the Technical Operations team at the Wedge Performing Arts Centre.  The Wedge Performing Arts Centre houses a 390 seat theatre, cafe and dining facilities, function and meeting rooms.

Council is seeking casual theatre technicians with skills across the technical disciplines of sound, lighting, staging, mechanical and electrical.  Technicians will work across the events of the centre from community and professional theatre to functions, meetings and conferences delivering high-quality events.

You should have proven event service experience and possess strong communication skills.  Furthermore, your availability to work nights, weekend and weekdays will be paramount in addition to your desire to learn new skills.  Elevated Work Platform, Work at Heights, First Aid, and Fire Warden training would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:

Demonstrated experience or interest in technical theatre operations.

Enthusiasm and a keen ability to learn.

Demonstrated ability to problem solve.

An aptitude dedicated towards serving clients and the general public to a very high standard.
