Apply your technical knowledge and experience of theatrical presentations to support the centre for visual and performing arts in Alice Springs.
The Araluen Arts Centre operates as the visual arts and performance hub of Central Australia, presenting an annual program of exhibitions, performances, and film. Known as the keeping place of stories, Araluen holds within its spaces some of the more significant works of art in Central Australia and works closely with community groups like schools, ballets and other community cultural organisations.
As a skilled Theatre Technician, your primary objective is to ensure the operation of all technical aspects of theatrical presentations across the Precinct, particularly in respect to the technical operations of the Araluen Arts Centre Theatre.
Your key duties include providing technical requirements and support to Araluen’s function areas, liaising with theatre hires and clients to ensure technical and staging requirements are achieved, participating in rehearsals and performances and ensuring all theatrical equipment is in effective working order.
To be successful, you require a relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience, along with sound knowledge of performance operating systems like, Q-lab, ETC lighting consoles, Digital Cinema Systems (DCP), hand-operated counterweight fly systems and experience in live – sound mixing”.
You should also be familiar with relevant Work, Health and Safety requirements and well as having developed interpersonal and communication skills. A willingness to work outside normal working hours on a regular basis is essential.
