Theatre Operations Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

An opportunity has arisen at Knox Grammar School in the Drama Department for an experienced and enthusiastic Theatre Operations Manager to join the team on a permanent full-time basis, commencing as soon as possible.

The Theatre Operations Manager plays a key role in delivering the performance and production programmes that take place in the Junior Academy and Performing Arts Centre (JAPAC) as well as other key locations across the School.

This position has primary responsibility for the technical and operational functions of the JAPAC, with accountability for ensuring that all events and usage of the centre are well managed, with a focus on safety and excellence.

The Theatre Operations Manager will ensure that the facility is equipped, maintained and resourced to meet the highest standards of theatrical and musical performance, while ensuring that the School’s academic program needs are met.

Ideally you will bring to the role:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of event owners and stakeholders.
  • Excellent personal organisation skills.
  • Can do attitude combined with problem solving skills.
  • Certification/Rigging and extensive experience in staging, theatre operations, venue management and AV technical production.
  • Asset management of Theatre Technical Assets, mega deck and lighting.
