Theatre Manager

PLC Perth in Western Australia is one of Australia’s leading schools for girls. With an impressive academic record, extensive and successful sporting, performing arts and co-curricular programmes; this vibrant community is an exciting and rewarding place to work. 

We are a Uniting Church school catering for approximately 1000 day and boarding students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Our campus is located in the leafy suburb of Peppermint Grove, situated between the ocean and the river.

Theatre Manager

Permanent, Full-time

PLC is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Theatre Manager to join our team, responsible for providing technical and audio-visual support for all school productions, shows, events and assemblies, as well as managing all aspects of the theatre facility.

As the Theatre Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all events run smoothly and efficiently, managing the technical and logistical aspects of the theatre facility, and providing support to students, staff and (on occasion) external organisations using the theatre.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical and audio-visual support for all school productions, shows, events, and assemblies, including lighting, sound, and set design and production.
  • Manage all aspects of the theatre facility, including scheduling, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and students to develop and produce high-quality productions.
  • Supervise and train student stage crew and technical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the theatre facility.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in technical theatre production and management.
  • Relevant qualifications in theatre technologies, rigging, lighting, sound and AV.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and equipment for lighting, sound, and video.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for theatre and the arts.
