The Shore is looking for a dynamic and passionate Theatre Manager!
We are looking for an individual with extensive practical working knowledge of production requirements for live theatre, events and music. They must possess the knowledge and planning for production requirements, both internal and external, including budgeting and scheduling for all productions and other artistic activities. They will have trained and supervised stage and lighting crews as well as worked with people with limited knowledge such as staff, students, and external users of the Shore theatre.
This dynamic and passionate individual will have demonstrated outstanding customer service and have exceptional communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders. They must be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality outcomes.
The primary responsibility of the Theatre Manager is the technical and operational management of the Shore Theatre with accountability for ensuring that all events and usage of the theatre are managed appropriately. There are two theatres, a 500-seat auditorium for concerts, productions and events and a flexible 200 seat drama studio.
It is the Theatre Managers’ responsibility to ensure that the facility is equipped, maintained, and resourced to meet the highest standards of theatrical and musical performance while ensuring that the school’s academic program needs are met.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Qualifications in Theatre Management, Stage Management, Production and or Lighting design via NIDA/WAAPA or similar
- Relevant experience in theatre production either based in a theatre company, events venue, major festival and/or entertainment environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects of theatrical production and the Performing Arts
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office, web/portal front end maintenance
The role will require work outside core school hours from time to time in relation to supporting productions and other performing arts events.
