Duties
Excelsia College is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Theatre Manager. The Theatre Manager role will report to the Manager of Finance, Accounts and Administration.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and review annual budget for the auditorium;
- Manage the process of bookings and hiring of the auditorium;
- Oversee the organisation of the auditorium space is for classes and activities;
- Plan, develop and manage all aspects of the auditorium’s technical operation within the auditorium budget for Excelsia College;
- Ensure the overall safety of the users of the space by following Work Health and Safety guidelines and practices, ensuring all equipment and facilities is monitored for safe and proper use;
- Participate in the yearly WHS audit to facilitate WHS development within the auditorium;
- Regularly audit of all activities and auditorium facilities for the safe and proper use of the auditorium and equipment safety;
- Be available for Excelsia College events when required and negotiated with your manager.
- Organize the repair or purchase of all lighting, sound, audio-visual and special effects auditorium equipment;
- Oversees the Production Technician to ensure successful operation for public performances/concerts/projects in the auditorium.
Selection criteria

- Committed Christian, involved in a local congregation.
- Post-secondary qualification and experience in inventory management and all technical areas of auditorium, including lighting and sound.
- Technological literacy and an interest in exploring new options for providing auditorium support services.
- Extensive knowledge of theatre practices, terminology and etiquette.
- A high-level understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and procedures in relation to theatre and entertainment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines. - Ability to provide customer service to students, staff and external hires to meet their needs.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence in presentations to groups.
