As the Theatre Head Technical Operator – Staging (Head Mechanist) you will assist the Theatre Technical Manager with the coordination, management, bump in, setup, operation, maintenance and bump out of both in house and touring staging and flying systems You will act as a senior point of contact for staging staff whilst consistently delivering a high quality of service to touring shows, clients and other stakeholders, as well as ensuring legal compliance and risk management are maintained.
Essential Criteria:
- Advanced Rigging ticket
- Demonstratable experience as a Mechanist and/or flyman
- Minimum 5 years’ senior technical staging experience in a supervisory role
- Strong computer skills including high proficiency in Excel
- Ability to analyse problems, troubleshoot and identify and implement appropriate solutions
- Demonstrate staff supervision skills including recruitment and selection, induction, performance evaluation and discipline
- Organisational ability including time management, task prioritisation and resource scheduling
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Criteria:Â
- Forklift and EWP License
- Experience in the use of CAD
