About The Role
We have some amazing performance and presentation spaces here at Mentone Grammar and exciting opportunities available for a Senior Theatre and Events Technical Support and a Theatre and Events Technical Support person. These will be a casual positions.
Working in a collaborative team environment with direction from the AV and Theatre Technician and the Performing Arts Head of Faculty. This is a hands-on role that will see you involved in setups, operation and dismantling of sound, lighting, stage and video recording equipment for both school and external productions such as musicals, plays and concerts, as well as the recording and editing of performances and concerts.
About you!
Qualifications
- Current Employee Working With Children (WWC) Clearance, or willingness to apply for one.
- Relevant Theatre Technician qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Licence to perform Rigging/Dogging is desirable.
- Elevated Work Platform License is desirable.
- First Aid Qualification, or willingness to undertake.
- Experience in an Education environment is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes
- High level knowledge of and skills in set up and design of sound, lighting, stage and audio or video recording equipment.
- Understanding of modern operating systems including but not limited to Mac OS, iOS, Windows 10 and Android, specifically with regards to presentation tools and usage.
- Experience or understanding in the setup, maintenance and operation of lighting equipment, audio systems and staging equipment and machinery.
- Experience in troubleshooting and carrying out minor repairs to theatre equipment.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Outstanding customer service skills being proactive.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to work autonomously and make effective use of resources.
- Capable multi-tasking skills including the ability to set priorities, undertake effective problem solving to reach solutions and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Sound written and oral communication skills incorporating high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to develop rapport with staff and community stakeholders at all levels.
- Genuine interest in the Education sector.
