Theatre and Events Technician

An exciting permanent full-time opportunity is now available for a Theatre and Events Technician responsible for delivering high-quality technical services for Cessnock Performing Arts Centre and includes its outreach points ensuring hirers and the audience are provided with a high-quality service and cultural experience. The position is also required to implement the actions associated with the theatre maintenance schedule and assist with maintaining the venue’s asset registers.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the PACC Operations Team Leader in the delivery of all technical theatre operations including production scheduling, staging and performance in accordance with statutory requirements, Australian standards and codes of practice, industry guidelines and risk assessments;
  • Deliver all technical tasks associated with bump in and bump out including theatre performances, community and civic events in accordance with statutory requirements, Australian standards and codes of practice, industry guidelines and risk assessments;
  • Prepare the venue’s auditorium and additional performance spaces as per client requirements, including set-up, operation and pack down of the venue’s audio, lighting, rigging and staging equipment.
  • Communicate with venue users ensuring technical and theatre operational requirements are understood and achieved including on site problem solving at the earliest time.
