Just recently UK touring sensation “The Wombats” climbed out of their burrow and returned to the touring scene staging a number of concerts across the country as well as playing the occasional festival.
Creative Production’s Founder and CEO, David Jackson, who tours with the band as the Lighting Designer, put together an impressive lighting and video rig which he took on the road starting in Canberra and finishing with their last show for the year at Grapevine Festival in Sydney.
The lighting design featured LED, in many different forms. Twelve of the brand new to creative Ayrton Mistral Spots, alongside twenty-eight GLP X4 Washes and JDC1 Stobes, eight Martin Atomic LED strobes, RTI Neo6 lasers, TLC Corona LED Fixtures and a dozen Nitec LED Blinders made up the rig, which was powered using the Creative’s standard power system racks that revolve around LSC Lighting Systems Gen IV and Power Point distribution. The 10m x 6m 5.9mm pitch LED screen, which featured custom graphic content hosted by the Catalyst Media Server, was built from TLC’s TourPro M590PRO LED panels.
Jackson, formally very much a High End Hog operator, has ventured into the MA Lighting International realm and recently used the company’s brand new MA3 Console on the final Wombats show for 2018 with plans to tour with the console early next year.
