The P.A. People Bring the Summer Goods

The PA. People Event Comms team’s summer season starts early in October with the delivery of both Radios and our CCTV system for MotoGP on Phillip Island. The island is a home away from home for some of our team, having visited the Grand Prix Circuit for 7 consecutive years.

The P.A. People also continue to be proud sponsors of both the Sydney Kings and the Sydney Flames, providing our Bose Professional ShowMatch system and Communications package for every game at Qudos Bank Arena for the past six seasons. The NBL25 Season had a growth rate of 26% for the average free-to-air audience this year, and record numbers at games themselves.

“The NBL remains the fastest-growing sporting league in Australia, and we couldn’t be happier with the increases we have seen in all areas this season,” NBL CEO David Stevenson said. “To see the league continue its unprecedented growth is a huge credit to the clubs, players, fans, broadcast, commercial and government partners, volunteers, and venues, who all play a valuable role in making the NBL one of the best sports entertainment products in the market.”

New Year’s Eve in Sydney is always a huge affair, and The P.A. People have been a part of it for thirteen years, having been contracted by the City of Sydney for the New Year’s Eve Fireworks. We provide a comprehensive radio and communications package that supports the fireworks, projection, lighting and broadcast systems for the event.  We also delivered centrally managed crowd control PA Systems throughout the City Centre for the third consecutive year, coordinating a complex matrix of multiple systems across multiple locations.

Over the same period, our team also provided audio support for the United Cup at Ken Rosewall Arena at Olympic Park for Tennis Australia, another regular and long-term client of The P.A. People.

For some team members, the summer season extended to the Middle East, where they provided communications for an opening event on Sindalah Island, part of the ongoing development in the Neom region. This is a return trip to the region for The P.A. People, finding successful partnerships in the area.

We can’t not talk about the busy festival season, kicking off with Listen Out at Centennial Park, continuing right through until March, with events also at the Domain and the Sydney Opera House, including the Live Nation Concert Series. For these specialised festival environments, The P.A. People provided networked sound pressure level and environmental monitoring systems. Our systems are based on hardware from SPLnet, integrated with our own Ethernet links and 3G HSPA routers. SPL monitoring units and microphones can be placed anywhere to optimise audio capture, including on-site boundaries to ensure compliance monitoring in accordance with license conditions – essential for inner-city events bordering residential areas.

Finally, we conclude the season with another Grand Prix, this one being the Formula 1 in Melbourne, where we have been delivering comprehensive solutions in PA, radio communications, and CCTV for 15 years.

The P.A. People continue to provide a complete range of support services to the Events industry for a broad range of clients and venues. We couldn’t be prouder of what the team delivers, with our long-term clients returning year after year for reliable, efficient, and high-quality event support.
