Telefunken Elektroakustik has created a colourful new collection of its popular M80 and M81 dynamic microphones. Dubbed “Colours for Causes” by company founder Toni Fishman, the new colours are aligned with a variety of non-profit charities funding research into cures for diseases and for associations supporting protective environmental measures. Portions of proceeds will go directly to these charity organizations.
“Since founding the company more than 20 years ago, we’ve lost family, friends, and some special members of the pro-audio community,” Fishman said. “We decided to do something positive and dedicate our new mic colours to important 501c organizations that are working on cures for a number of diseases, as well as groups funding environmental efforts.”
Telefunken has updated its custom colouring process of microphones to a more durable ceramic coating and standardized automated procedures. When customers purchase a new solid colour mic, Telefunken donates a portion of proceeds to worthwhile causes. A few of the new mic colour finishes and charities include:
Pink — National Breast Cancer Foundation https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/
Cherry — The Nature Conservatory https://www.nature.org/en-us/
Turquoise — Alzheimer’s Foundation Of America https://alzfdn.org/alzawarenessmonth/
Oak — The Rainforest Alliance https://www.rainforest-alliance.org/
