Iona College is an independent Catholic Boys School, owned and administered by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. It is located in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Lindum and caters for some 1620 students from Years 5 to 12 inclusive.
Iona College is seeking expressions of interest for casual Iona Performing Arts Centre (IPAC) Technicians to support the strategic vision of the College to empower all members of the community to make a positive difference throughout their lives and the lives of others.
These IPAC Technicians will be event and/or theatre practitioners with different levels of experience. They will be required to work during peak periods of the calendar year. Iona College is seeking to add to the casual staff to augment our current team in ensuring our clients receive continued production support across multiple venues and different technical disciplines. IPAC Technicians work within a collaborative team reflecting the strengths in expertise around their chosen fields of expertise. This includes lighting (almost exclusively on an ETC Ion), audio, staging, some AV content playback and switching, FOH, bar/canteen supervision and acting as Venue Manager as availability and suitability allows.
Position Scope of the IPAC Technician includes:
The IPAC Technician supports the IPAC Manager ensuring the appropriate operation and maintenance of the Iona College Performing Arts Centre for internal and external use. The primary role of the Technician is to efficiently and effectively.
The role holder works collaboratively to:
- Take direction from the IPAC Manager and/ or the Technical Event Manager
- Service the needs of the College community in the use of IPAC and other areas of the College as directed
- Develop strong, positive customer relationships
- Perform any other duties as directed by the IPAC Manager and / or the Technical Event Manager
- Discern and nurture the vision and faith life of the College
- Engage actively in implementing the strategic plan of the College
- Model quality relationships to staff, students and parents
To be considered for these positions, all candidates must:
- Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificaiton
- Have a current Blue Card – Working With Children, or meet the eligibility criteria to apply for one
- Have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education
- Be effective communicators with all stakeholders, particularly as a welcome threshold to the College
- Have a strong ability to prioritise and multi-task, with a strong focus on detail
- Customer Service focused when on front reception
- Present in a corporate and professional manner
Previous experience within lighting, audio, visual, staging and AV is highly advantageous
