Technician, Sound & Vision

In this role, you’ll deliver effective Sound & Vision services to our presenters and clients across all venues at Arts Centre Melbourne. Your role will involve the setup, operation and maintenance of sound and vision equipment through all stages of event production, aligning with budgeted schedules and prioritising safety and efficiency at every step. 

Casual position. Band 2.1 $31.51 per hour plus 25% casual loading and superannuation.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience in preparing, documenting, and operating sound and AV systems
  • An understanding of the theory involved in sound and vision concepts and how to achieve and create specific sound and visual artistic effects
  • Experience in applying this knowledge for different situations and venues
  • Understand the concepts of signal flow and their application to connect audio and visual equipment correctly.
  • Ability to identify and recognise all standard sound and video equipment/components including connection systems and accurately assemble equipment
  • Operational knowledge of electronics, computer systems/networking and sound equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence other team members to affect positive outcomes
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

This technology operates in strict privacy mode, meaning that images are not stored. The use of this technology is necessary for ACM to perform its roster, time and attendance (RTA) functions accurately and efficiently. Therefore, all new staff in the Production, Visitor Experience, Ticketing and Hospitality Teams will be required to use it unless otherwise agreed.
