Technician – Performing Arts Centre

  • Picton location
  • Permanent Part-Time position, 24 hours per week (Monday to Sunday) with potential for additional hours based on events schedule
  • The position is subject to an open spread of hours on a rostered basis and includes after hours, weekend and public holiday work in accordance with the Award
  • Salary commencing from $42.00 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation

About the Role

We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for a Technician – PAC to join our Community Services Team. The position plays an instrumental role in overseeing the set-up of technical services and Back of House Operations for Wollondilly Shire Council’s new Performing Arts Centre.

The Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre is the first significant project in a major Cultural Precinct for the Wollondilly community.  As a new flexible format, state of the art theatre it will be a unique venue in the region, attracting a wide range of contemporary theatre performances, as well as community events and commercial hires.

The Technician – PAC, plays a pivotal role in providing high level technical support and production services to a wide range of theatre users, ensuring the success of the venue and cultural benefit across the region. 

The successful applicant must demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience as Theatre Technician or Stage Hand and experience operating theatre equipment
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing technical specifications
  • Experience carrying out maintenance of theatre equipment and facilities
  • Ability to provide advice and support to inexperienced theatre users.
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Experience in operating Allen & Heath Avantis audio console and/or ETX Ion Xe20 Lighting console will be highly regarded.
