About the Role

The Technician Assistant will assist with the overall staging of productions at Townsville City Council’s Performing Arts venue, the Townsville Civic Theatre. This role supports the technical unit by undertaking theatre and event set ups, operating basic theatrical equipment and assisting in the upkeep of Council’s performance venues and systems.

About You

Our ideal applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in general theatre disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience working or volunteering backstage in a performing arts environment.
  • Current Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
  • Possess an understanding of theatre technical systems.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Possess basic literacy and numeracy skills. • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment

* The Council contribution to employees’ superannuation for contributing employees shall be 13.5% of the employees’ ordinary time earnings subject to the employee contributing a minimum of 6% of their ordinary time earnings.
