About the role:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Technical Supervisor-Sound, as part of the Technical Team, will assist in the preparation and undertaking of various operational duties for the diverse range of productions and events staged at SCT for execution to the highest possible standards.
The day to day:
- Work with and alongside the SCT Technical Team, visiting creatives and incoming Production Managers to coordinate and support the production’s sound and audio visual requirements and ensure the design is presented to the highest standard within the allocated resources.
- Provide high quality technical services as directed by the Technical Manager.
- Assist with production load-ins and load-outs.
- Act as Duty Technician during performances as required.
- Support the Technical Manager to ensure the flow of information both within the department and to other stakeholders is clearly communicated.
- Maintain and test all sound and audio visual equipment on a scheduled basis and ensure resources are operating effectively.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Sound and Audio Visual, Entertainment or a minimum of 5 years demonstrated sound and audio visual expertise with high level technical production and live event experience including musical theatre, concerts and large corporate events.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of sound and audio visual equipment and systems administration.
- Extensive experience operating a Digi-Co SD12 console and other industry-leading digital consoles.
- Strong knowledge of L-Acoustics speaker systems and the use of L-Acoustics L-ISA spatial audio technology.
- Strong knowledge of and experience using the Nightlife platform.
- Experience with Programming QSC Q-Sys and Crestron DSP systems.
- Strong knowledge of sound and audio-visual networking.
- Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Drawing software (CAD), ability to read and interpret plans.
- Must have First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
