About the opportunity

- Supervise operations within The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre.
The Technical Supervisor is a new position within Blacktown Arts, the division of Blacktown City Council responsible for the delivery of a diverse program of creative and cultural experiences, the management of The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre, and for cultural planning for Blacktown City. At Blacktown Arts, we walk alongside our First nations Elders, knowledge holders, and broader communities of artists, partners and collaborators in our shared vision of creative and cultural experiences being part of everyone’s daily lives.
The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of technical production skills across a range of art forms and events, experience working in conventional and unconventional spaces, including maintaining a cultural venue. You should be customer-focused, highly organised, have outstanding attention to detail, and demonstrate excellent communication skills across a broad range of stakeholders and cultural contexts.
Qualifications and experience Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in business administration or equivalent
- Demonstrated highly developed skills in galleries or one or more theatrical department, i.e. sound, vision, lighting, staging and other technical systems, or event management
- Solid working experience in providing administrative support in a project environment
- Intermediate Rigger’s licence
- Experience in setting up events and exhibitions
- Ability to work in physically demanding situations, including lifting and working at heights
- High-level planning, organising, coordinating and prioritisation skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office software
- Ability to collaborate and contribute as an effective team member.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- A competitive salary range of $1,316.60- $1,448.80 (Grade 9) per week (pro-rata) will be offered based on skills, qualifications and experience
- 28 hours per week
