Technical Supervisor

About the opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Technical Supervisor to join our dynamic Blacktown Arts team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to our upcoming programs and exhibitions on a temporary, 28 hours per week basis.

As a Technical Supervisor, you will be a crucial part of the operations of the Blacktown Arts program and the Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre to ensure the programs are delivered to a high standard, on budget, safely and the centre is well presented. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in business administration or equivalent
  • Demonstrated highly developed skills in galleries or one or more theatrical department, i.e. sound, vision, lighting, staging and other technical systems, or event management
  • Solid working experience in providing administrative support in a project environment
  • Experience in setting up events and exhibitions
  • Ability to work in physically demanding situations, including lifting and working at heights.
  • High level planning, organising, coordinating and prioritisation skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute as an effective team member
  • Working with Children Check valid for paid work.


Desirable:

  • Intermediate Rigger’s licence. 


Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,510.58 per week (pro-rata)
  • 28-hour working week
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.


This position has been identified as child related work, in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013.
