Technical Services Officer

Classification: ANU Officer 6 (Technical)
Salary package: $95,987 – $100,378 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Fixed Term (up to 12 months)

The Position

As part of the Venues and Functions team within the Corporate Services portfolio, the Technical Services Officer plays a key role in the coordination, design, and operation of technical systems for high-profile venues. You will ensure the seamless delivery of technical services, including audiovisual, lighting, and live streaming, to meet client expectations and event objectives. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of a diverse range of events, supporting the efficient operation of the University’s leading venues while ensuring the highest standards of service and safety.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong technical expertise in performing venues or similar environments. They will demonstrate knowledge of lighting, sound, and visual production, and be committed to continuous improvement. Proficiency in maintaining asset records, using industry-standard software, and managing administrative tasks is essential. The candidate will be adaptable to varied event timelines, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A solid understanding of work health and safety requirements in technical environments is required, along with a proactive approach to delivering safe and effective technical support across all operations.
