Yarra Ranges Council are seeking a Technical Services Officer to join our Event Services Team. As a Technical Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of professional technical services across Yarra Ranges Council’s cultural facilities Reporting to the Facilities Operations and Technical Services Supervisor you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of events and experiences for both professional and community users.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of venue back-of-house areas.
- Develop operational processes for staging, ensuring consistent high-quality audience experience.
- Implement theatre technical plans and oversee key events and performances.
- Support venue clients by assisting with production setup, performance, and teardown.
- Manage lighting, audio, audio-visual, staging, and technical support for all events.
- Assist with regular maintenance and upgrades of technical and stage equipment to industry standards.
This is a part-time temporary backfill until 30 September 2023 (22.8 hours per week). Hourly rate from $33.95 (Band 4), plus superannuation.
What you’ll bring to our team
- Strong knowledge of audio-visual equipment, lighting systems, sound systems, and technical production processes.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Test & Tag certificate desirable.
- EWP license
