An exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Rigger to join the team at NICA!
Join the Production Team at Australia’s National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA). NICA is a Centre of Excellence in contemporary circus arts and is looking for an experienced circus rigger to be responsible for the maintenance, care and safety issues of rigging and training related equipment and spaces.
The role will encompass daily rigging duties, inspections, equipment maintenance, show rigging support.
This position will work closely with the Head of Circus Studies, Production Manager and the Operations Manager (Facilities and Resources).
The role provides advice and practical application to NICA in terms of its responsibilities to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). The position aims to provide coordination on a daily basis over the workplace including training spaces and production activities:
· General day to day safety supervision in the NICA training and workspaces including rigging requirements for all NICA offerings, NICA Ed, NICA Performs, NICA Rec, and NICA Represents.
· Management of tool storage and production storage areas.
· Support and implement established OH&S policies and procedures.
· Performing rigging and safety duties on shows from time to time
· Inventory, management and maintenance of all rigging and circus equipment including apparatus and safety equipment
· Building and creating circus equipment, structures and props.
· Assisting with facilities maintenance.
