We are currently seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Production Services team in the full-time 12-month position of Technical Production Trainee to commence in January/February 2023.
You will gain on the job training while working closely with QPAC’s experienced Production Services professionals, as well as undertaking a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services. Reporting to the Manager – Technical Training, you will receive hands-on work experience across the nominated areas of QPAC (staging, audio/visual, and lighting) and experience all technical operations of a major performing arts centre.
To be considered for this role, you will have completed your Senior High School Certificate (or equivalent) and be flexible, self-motivated, responsible and have an enthusiastic approach to work. You will also possess:
• A demonstrated interest in Technical Production and a desire to explore and develop a career in the Performing Arts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively and work in a team with a professional and positive manner.
• The ability to plan and coordinate work effectively to complete assigned tasks and meet team and production standards.
• A demonstrated ability to take direction and apply acquired knowledge to satisfy the requirements of assigned tasks.
• The physical capability to frequently perform the inherent requirements of the role including manual work tasks that may involve strenuous activity and repetitive actions.
Availability is required across a seven-day roster for day, evening, and weekend shifts to meet operational demands. Full-time Technical Production Trainees are required to work a total of 38 ordinary hours per week (inclusive of approved training.)
