Technical Operations Manager (AV)

NIDA is unique in the world for its practice-based and industry-relevant training in the range that it offers which includes Acting, Design, Costume, Properties and Objects, Technical Theatre and Stage Management, Scenic Construction, Writing for Performance, Directing and Cultural Leadership.

The Technical Operations Manager is responsible for managing a team of professional technical staff, who provide technical expertise and resources to support the needs of NIDA as an Australian Educational Institution for higher education, short courses, corporate training and as a commercial performing arts centre. 

About You

With your previous experience in a similar role, you will have excellent leadership skills, and customer service with the ability to communication and impart technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.  You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy balancing the priorities of internal and external client needs, and the short-term day to day operations with the long – term approach to technical and business development.  You will have a willingness to be hands on where necessary and have the ability to work at heights, with sound IT skills.

About the role

This is a full time 3 – year contract.

  • A valid Working with Children Check for NSW is essential.  Having one or being willing to get one and to support and implement NIDA’s Child Safe Strategies is necessary to undertake this role.
