After a $12M redevelopment of Leeton’s 95-year-old “Palace of Dreams”, the beautiful Roxy Community Theatre is once again open for business.
The Roxy boasts a main auditorium with 510 seats (180 retractable and 330 fixed in the balcony, including dress circle) and a Roxy 2 Theatrette, which is due for completion by the end of the year (black box, with 54 retractable seats).

The Roxy Community Theatre is blessed with a 65-person strong “Dream Team of Volunteers” who support day to day operations and are a key part of the Roxy’s workforce.
Both roles are 35 hours per week with one rostered day off per month and will require flexibility in relation to the hours of work, including weekday, evening and weekend work, along with the ability to undertake extensive manual handling.
Primary purpose of the role is to:
- Deliver all production and technical services, including but not limited to back of house, for events at the Roxy to an excellent and safe standard, and high level of client/customer satisfaction.
- Oversee WHS processes and procedures, including but not limited to back of house, in order to ensure safety for workers, hirers, artists, patrons and visitors.
- Develop production and maintenance schedules for the Roxy Theatre.
Qualifications/Licences/Experience
- Diploma or Degree level qualifications in Theatre Technical services (sound / lighting) with at least 2 years’ experience in theatre or event technical operations (or extensive, demonstrated experience in a similar role).
- Current First Aid Certificate and current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current credentials to work at heights and undertake electrical testing and tagging (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Class C Driving licence.
Salary Range
Grade 12 to Grade 15 ($79,391 pa to $104,393 pa) dependent on skills and experience
