The role will focus on the Rigging aspect of the operations, understanding the fundamentals of the building infrastructure and ensuring safe working practises during bump-in and bump-out of shows. This role is full-time; however, the possibility for the role to be part-time exists for the suitable candidate. Experience in a similar role or within a large venue environment is desirable.
About Role
- To effectively aid the Technical Operations Coordinator and Manager with the day-to-day running of the department
- Supervise staff and maintain their productivity in carrying out allocated tasks
- Book and oversee the external event rigging contractors
- Oversee the servicing, compliance and deployment of the venue’s rigging and height access equipment
- Review Production supplied rigging information and overlay it into the Venue System
- Operate the Arena’s equipment, including using the Sico Staging system
- Set up, operate and maintain sporting surfaces, including Basketball and Tennis plus Set up and operate sporting equipment
About You
- Candidate must demonstrate their experience and sound knowledge of Entertainment Rigging
- Candidate must demonstrate experience in collaborating with industry professionals such as Engineers and Production personnel
- Candidate must hold a valid Advanced Rigging (RA) High-Risk Work Licence
- DESIRABLE: Forklift, Rope access and Elevated Work Platform tickets, plus experience using Autocad
- Strong management and leadership capabilities to empower, motivate and engage staff
- Flexibility to work full-time with the addition of working RAC Arena’s event schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
