About the position:
The Technical Officer attends to all aspects of technical production in relation to performances and events at the Queens Park Theatre and other City-owned venues. This position works evenings and weekends as required and supports the Queens Park Theatre Team in all aspects of the Theatre’s technical operations.
Key accountabilities:
- Effectively manage the set up and operation of various pieces of lighting, audio and AV equipment.
- Ensure lighting, audio and staging equipment is operated in the correct and safe manner during performances according to technical requirements as well as in accordance with in-house City of Greater Geraldton Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Undertake regular and ongoing maintenance and complete maintenance tasks as required.
- Conduct stock take for technical materials and consumables as required ensuring the QPT inventory and stock is regularly updated.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant would ideally hold a Certificate IV in a field of study relevant to a technical role in a performing arts theatre, or a lesser qualification with experience in professional performing arts/events technical operations and stage management.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $69,663 per annum or $35.2547 per hour will be offered dependent on the knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications of the successful candidate as it relates to the requirements of the position.
