Technical Officer

Part-time (20 hours per week), 12-month contract

The Role

This position provides technical, occupational health and safety, furniture distribution and general staffing support to activities occurring in The Cube Wodonga to ensure the smooth operation and successful execution of performances, functions, exhibitions and events hosted by both the council and external hirers. This includes implementation and delivery of technical and physical components for events, functions, conferences and performances; including set-up, pack down, operation of audio, projection, lighting and camera equipment.

About you

To be successful in the role you will be a great team player who is quick to develop good relationships, is driven, hardworking, collaborative, solutions-oriented and passionate in delivering quality outcomes for our organisation.

As the successful candidate, you will also be able to demonstrate the below key selection criteria.

  1. Relevant technical experience and/or qualifications in the performing arts, events and/or conference industry.

  2. Experience setting up and operating performance and/or conference-based technical equipment.

  3. The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with venue hirers, patrons, suppliers, members of the community and other team members to ensure successful delivery of events.

  4. Organisational skills with the ability to manage time and plan and organise own workload.

  5. Ability to display a strong community and customer focus when interacting with patrons and members of the community.
