Technical Officer

About the position:

The Technical Officer attends to all aspects of technical production in relation to performances and events at the Queens Park Theatre and other City-owned venues. This position works evenings and weekends as required supporting the Technical Team Leader in all aspects of the Theatre’s technical operations.

Key accountabilities:

  • Effectively manage the set up and operation of various pieces of lighting, audio and AV equipment.
  • Ensure lighting, audio and staging equipment is operated in the correct and safe manner during performances according to technical requirements as well as in accordance with in-house City of Greater Geraldton Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all event production aspects are coordinated in a professional manner with a customer-service focus.
  • Undertake regular and ongoing maintenance inspections with the Technical Team Leader, and complete maintenance tasks as required.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant should have a Diploma in Theatre Production or have certificate level qualification with experience in theatre production, visual, lighting and audio-operations.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $62,664 per annum or $31.7125 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
