We are looking to engage a Sydney-based Deputy Head of Props on our Australian premiere theatrical production of “Hamilton” at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, Sydney.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all work customarily undertaken by a Deputy Head of Props on a first-class theatrical production.
• Assist in the direction of Props crew.
• Participate in props maintenance and performance duties.
• Participate in the setup & load out of the Props department in the theatre and as required by the Technical Director and Head of Props.
• Participate in the organisation and coordination of production transfers between venues.
• Create and update plots/rosters/checklists and reports.
• Assist in coordinating all Props duties so the production is called and run as rehearsed.
• Ensure all aspects of Props are maintained and presented at performances to the highest professional standards.
• Attend all meetings, performances, rehearsals, training, and other calls as required.
• Liaise with company management regarding any matters of concern about safety, staff or conduct at work.
• Always ensure compliance with WH&S laws, policies & guidelines.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years experience as a Deputy Head of Props in commercial theatrical productions.
• Extensive and proven ability to manage the day-to-day activities Props Department and Props Crew.
• Demonstrable success in contributing to WH&S compliant theatrical work environments.
• Experience in working on large complex theatrical productions.
• Solid computer skills.
• Relevant Tertiary or Certificate qualifications.
