Technical Manager – Theatre

Crown Perth is well known for its majestic theatre and welcoming five-star service, it is also home to many local and international star performers. Reporting to the AV & Technical Systems Manager the position of Technical Manager – Theatre is responsible for managing all aspects of the back of house technical operations of the Crown Perth Theatre.

Liaising with clients, suppliers, production houses and tour managers; you will ensure efficiency, professionalism and customer satisfaction. You will schedule technical staff and equipment for the installation, operation and dismantling shows for internal and external clients and will maintain records of technical operations, staff utilisation and equipment maintenance.

The successful candidate will have the following;

Minimum of five to ten years Senior technical experience within a Theatre environment

Experience leading and motivating teams to ensure effective delivery of services within the operation

Experience in administrative tasks including rostering, budget management, register maintenance and Event Business Management Systems.

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively negotiate with various internal and external stakeholders

Experience in working with a variety of shows such as touring musicals, international events and A-list rock and roll artists.

Knowledge of touring production requirements (Audio, lighting & rigging systems)

Organisational ability including time management, task prioritisation and resource scheduling while working towards tight deadlines

Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety & risk management

Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, analyse problems, identify and implement appropriate solutions

Knowledge of local and national industry connections, suppliers and vendors.

Riggers ticket, Forklift License and/or other appropriate qualifications is desirable

Flexibility towards working hours as we are a 24/7 operation
