fortyfivedownstairs is seeking an enthusiastic and efficient full-time Technical Manager to manage the day-to-day technical requirements of its busy gallery and theatre.
fortyfivedownstairs is one of Melbourne’s most renowned and multi-faceted creative hubs. As an unfunded and not-for-profit arts organisation, we present a diverse program of theatre, music, forums and exhibitions by a wide range of emerging and mid-career artists.
The Technical Manager is part of a small, vibrant team that works tirelessly to maintain the overall operation of fortyfivedownstairs, and to support independent artists. Individually, the Technical Manager is responsible for the sourcing, costing, coordination and management of the venue’s technical requirements. A key accountability of the role of is to provide OH&S and technical advice/support to hirers and to oversee the operational safety of the organisation.
As the successful applicant, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in the Arts, and/or an acceptable level of relevant achievement, knowledge and skills in this area. You will have a passion for the arts and possess excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
Salary: $70,000 per annum + superannuation
Employment terms: This is a full-time role (averaging 38-hours per week) with a three-month probationary period. Some weekend work is required.
