We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join the Company’s Production team at one of the most exciting times in the Company’s history. Currently based in The Rocks, Bell Shakespeare will move to brand new, purpose-built premises at Pier 2/3, Walsh Bay in late 2021/early 2022. Here the Company will be singularly located across a 4-level tenancy as part of the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.
Reporting to the Head of Production, the Technical Manager will be responsible for providing production support for the Company’s national touring productions and for the planning and delivery of Company activities, including workshops, digital content delivery, functions and events.
The Technical Manager will also be responsible for managing contract technical staff specific to each production and/or event. This role is a key part of the production department, working closely with creative teams, builders and suppliers to ensure that all production and design requirements are achieved to the highest standard.
About you:
The successful applicant will be an active participant in pre-production planning, rehearsal activity, bump in, season support, bump out and facility maintenance. This includes co-ordination and delivery of production-related resources, supervision and direction of production teams, researching and sourcing equipment, working closely with creative teams, and maintaining accurate records and documentation within the production environment.
