As Technical Manager, your primary purpose is to support to manage technical and operational related services to ensure delivery of MRC’s schedule of concerts and events to an international standard and to manage the organisation’s statutory obligations regarding Workplace Health and Safety.
The successful candidates will have experience and skills in the following;
- Demonstrated expertise and transferrable skills in a technical production role for a performing arts venue or for a performing arts sector organisation
- A specific knowledge of the presentation of music, including a range of classical and contemporary genres, and production requirements
- A broad knowledge and experience across a variety of technical production fields including audio, lighting, projection, audio-visual and staging
- Proven leadership and people management skills, including negotiation & conflict resolution, goal setting, coaching, effective oral and written communication and consultation, the ability to manage pressure, ambiguity and change and to
meet deadlines - Proficiency in financial management, project management and cost control
- Proficient in WHS management, including crisis and business recovery management.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and use initiative
- An ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels, forge partnerships and build trust across business areas, functions and organisations
- Highly developed computing skills, including a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and databases and the ability to become a skilled user of the MRC’s venue management and rostering systems
