Salary Range: Above award salary starting at $81,492.13* per annum.
*This role has an annual allowance equivalent to 15% of the base salary to compensate for working unusual hours. This allowance will be paid in addition to the base salary and will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead our world-class team, delivering great community events across the Cairns region in our wide range of venues.
Primary Objective of the position:
- To coordinate and manage the Tanks Arts Centre’s production services, technical operations and equipment in accordance with industry best practice and Council’s Arts and Cultural Facilities Policy.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of all site, facilities & technical aspects associated with venue operations and to ensure high quality technical, gallery and production services delivery primarily at Tanks Arts Centre Precinct, including Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre and The Court House.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Proven experience in technical production and a passion for the Arts
- High level leadership to build and effectively manage a highly skilled and productive team of technical, gallery and facilities personnel
- Operational or facilities management experience
- Ability to identify, manage and implement processes in an Arts and events environment
- Cultural awareness and excellent customer service and communication skills
