Technical Coordinator – Performing Arts Centre

  • Picton location
  • Permanent Full-Time position, based on 35 hours per week (Monday to Sunday)
  • The position is subject to an open spread of hours on a rostered basis and includes after hours, weekend and public holiday work in accordance with the Award
  • Salary commencing from $84,406, plus 11% superannuation

About the Role

We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for a Technical Coordinator – PAC to join our Community Services Team. The position plays an instrumental role in overseeing the set-up of specialist production services for Wollondilly Shire Council’s new Performing Arts Centre.

The Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre is the first significant project in a major Cultural Precinct for the Wollondilly community.  As a new flexible format, state of the art theatre it will be a unique venue in the region, attracting a wide range of contemporary theatre performances, as well as community events and commercial hires.

The role of the Technical Coordinator – PAC, plays a pivotal role in providing high level technical support and advice to the PAC Manager and supervision of all production and technical operations to ensure the success of the venue and cultural benefit across the region. 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Live Production and Technical Services or similar and/or Extensive high-level experience as Production Manager or Theatre Technician, including operating and programming theatre equipment
  • Ability to create, interpret and implement technical specifications and develop production plans
  • Experience in managing theatre equipment including maintenance schedules, inventory and asset management
  • Proven experience in managing WHS systems within a theatre environment, including developing safe work practices and operating procedures
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid
  • Current Working with Children Check

Experience in setting up or commissioning technical services in a new performing arts venue will be highly regarded.
