Technical and Operations Manager

Class 5 / $93,770 – $105,546 plus 10% Superannuation 

Max Term Contract up until 1st August 2022

How this position will make a difference to the City of Melbourne… 

This role is on one of two key front line positions in the management team that are essential to the reputation of the service and level of client care.

The Technical Operations Manager will be required to deliver a seamless service in event technical production, advice, planning and delivery for hire clients whilst managing the day to day operations of the venue.

You can bring

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Operations, Production/Technical or Venue management position within the arts sector (including lights, sound, vision, staging).
  • Facility and building management (desirable with heritage architecture).
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan and co-ordinate operational and maintenance requirements within tight budget constraints.
  • Solid understanding of project management and excellent client management and customer service skills.
  • Previous experience in preparing event risk management plans, OHS and compliance in a venue management context.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external contractors and contributing to procedure manuals and operating systems relating to venue administration and OHS/risk management.
  • Strong administrative skills (including computer skills) including proven ability to manage files and prepare reports

 Highly desirable

  • Elevated work platform licence
  • Level 2 First Aid and current CPR
  • High Risk Work licence (HRW) to work with rigging (and potentially hoists, elevated work platforms and scaffolding)
  • Experience with Health and Safety Representation (HSR)
