dplr Pty Ltd is a full-service production, technical, content and event management company based in Sydney NSW, servicing metropolitan, state and national projects, including but not limited to outdoor or indoor festivals and events, theatre shows, music concerts, live streams, technical installations and builds, and environmental creative treatments.
Purpose of the Technical Account Manager Role
The role of Technical Account Manager is to plan and deliver projects utilising company resources, including:
- Interpretation of client briefs within budget and timeline constraints, working with company inventory to deliver projects to a high standard;
- Preparation of quotes and technical documentation to support operations;
- Manage and grow audio visual equipment inventory to keep up with industry best practice;
- Lead full time and casual staff to deliver projects and exceed client expectations;
- Maintain strong industry connections with clients, suppliers and vendors;
- Ensure the ongoing operational and financial success of the business through reporting operational costs to Company Management;
- Support company operations through office and warehouse policies, procedures and operating systems;
- Develop and implement business and operational plans that ensure the effective and efficient operation of the company and its continued growth and success;
- Demonstrating personal leadership which aligns with the company’s culture and values, including delivery of high-quality service to clients and fostering a positive work environment.
The position is full-time and based in Sydney NSW, with some travel required for client work on an ad-hoc basis.
The Technical Account Manager will have high level technical and logistics experience, clear communication and customer service skills, and the ability to inspire and lead staff to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity to deliver projects to schedule and budget.
Essential Selection Criteria
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in a similar role, technical management or sales in the entertainment industry or at a venue
- Strong experience in audio, lighting and vision systems
- Experience in event or project management
- Class C Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with developing quotes and contracting.
- Experience or familiarity with inventory systems and rental management software.
- Competent in industry standard modelling programs (Vectorworks, AutoCAD).
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team or staff and contractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with influence.
- Knowledge of emerging technology.
- Proven ability to work effectively with the senior management group with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours when necessary.
- Impeccable organisational skills and grace under pressure, reacting to project adjustments promptly and efficiently.
- High level of digital and online literacy, including experience in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Xero and other online tools.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong focus on problem solving and managing competing priorities.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Experience in financial management, understanding of financial statements and a varied range of contracts.
Desirable Knowledge
- Background in business management
- Specialised licenses – forklift, EWP, MR or HR, Test & Tag
- Senior First Aid Certificate
