As an active collaborator within Creative Communities, the position requires a dynamic leader to oversee and coordinate the Production Team in the end-to-end delivery of production and technical services for events and venues at Bunjil Place. A comprehensive understanding and experience of venue and event management, technical operations, resource management and an ability to maintain a high-level client experience is a must.
Responsibilities include leading, coaching and developing the production team; client and key stakeholder engagement and support; rostering oversite and collaborating on event calendar and schedules; and supporting strategic planning to meet deadlines and budgets.

What you’ll deliver
- Oversee production team development, including recruitment, mentoring, and performance review.
- Provide direction and coaching with a shared leadership approach consistent with the Council values.
- Support the calendar of events and ensure venue efficiency including infrastructure and assets while identifying and mitigating OH&S risks.
- Oversee technical resources and budget while implementing operational procedures and safety documentation.
- Deliver high-quality technical services throughout the production process while facilitating client communication and overseeing cost estimates and event charges.
- Procure and allocate equipment, staff and resources while implementing safety protocols, and completing events within timeframes and budgets.
What you’ll bring
- Degree or diploma in technical production with several years of relevant leadership and technical experience; or equivalent leadership and technical experience with lesser formal qualifications.
- Proven track record as a dynamic, culture setting leader capable of fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
- Extensive experience in event planning, management, rostering and theatre operations.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability engage stakeholders creatively.
- Demonstrated financial management capability, including budget forecasting and cost reporting.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Psychometric Testing, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
- Preferred:
- Riggers, white card, and working at heights qualifications.
- Experience with Momentus (Ungerboeck) software.
