Systems Technician – Lighting

Full-time 2-year term appointment

$60,415 per annum plus superannuation

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced and motivated individual to join QPAC in the full-time term position of Systems Technician – Lighting.

Reporting to the Manager – Lighting and Electrical Services, this role will be responsible for supporting the Lighting Unit through the maintenance, expansion and development of current and new data networks for the lighting control systems throughout QPAC.

This position requires a high calibre individual who is suitably experienced in lighting control systems and data networks. Customer service is of paramount importance to this role, as is experience in trouble-shooting data issues across a range of control consoles, data distribution equipment and lighting network protocols. Other responsibilities include supervising and/or undertaking the set-up, programming and expansion of lighting control systems and networks for productions when the in-house or installed systems do not meet specific production requirements. Suitable applicants will also hold the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to programming, clashing IP addresses along with failing, damaged or sub-specification connection cabling and/or connectors. Relevant industry experience is essential and tertiary qualifications in the Arts, Live Production, Theatre and Events or equivalent will be highly regarded.

This is primarily a 9:00 to 17:00 position however it may occasionally require the individual to work evenings and/or weekends in accordance with performance schedules and requirements. It will require the individual to have a high degree of flexibility in relation to their work hours, sometimes at short notice.
