About the Sydney Comedy Festival
The Sydney Comedy Festival is a comedy festival running at various venues across Sydney including the Enmore Theatre, Factory Theatre, Manning Bar, Comedy Store, to name a few. The festival runs over four weeks from Monday 21 April to Sunday 18 May. During the festival season, the venues we operate transform into festival hubs.
About the Role
As a Live Audio Operator at The Sydney Comedy Festival, you will be responsible for setting up, and operating FOH systems for a wide range of live comedy events. You will work closely with directors, production teams, and other technical staff to ensure that every performance sounds great and runs smoothly. Our new Audio Technicians are passionate about comedy and entertainment, have solid experience working with all aspects of live entertainment in venues.
Required:
- Q-Lab experience or eagerness to learn the software
- Must be available for entire period from 21st April to the 18th May. If not available for entire period, still apply if available for most full weeks.
- Available Wednesday to Sunday. No mid-week unavailability’s permitted.
- Start times can be anywhere from 10am – 5pm depending on rehearsals
- End times can be between 10pm –12am
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating audio consoles for comedy performances
- Familiar with Analogue and Digital audio systems
- Setting up stage and microphones for live performances
- Representing the Sydney Comedy Festival through liaison with Artists, Production Managers and our Clients on show days.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving for audio systems
- Reporting; end of event,

Taking responsibility of stage and production areas
Desirable:
Preferred experience as a Sound Operator, preferably within the live entertainment industry.
A passion for comedy and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
